The Jones Farm, located in Johnson Branch State Park, was operated by the Jones family for more than 130 years. First settled in the 1850s, this farmstead was in continuous agricultural production until it was aquired by the US Army Corps of Engineers in 1984. Thanks to a cooperative agreement between the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, the US Army Corps of Engineers and the Friends of the Jones Farm, this typical farm has been preserved and serves as a teaching tool and reminder of the rich argicultural heritage of the prairies of North Texas.
